Lambretta TV175 Series III for sale.

This is a 1963 TV175 Series III. It was originally sold by the AL FERGODA Lambretta dealership in San Francisco.
Being a '63 it would properly have the LI style side panels and not the later TV/150 Special panels, such as it has one of now. The right side panel is missing.
Apologies abound for this heinous blue 'paint-job'; it was perpetrated by a fellow who stole the scoot and did this to conceal its identity. It didn't work and he was caught, procecuted and caged. The paint had been an soft-white Imron, which is now entombed under the blue.
This is the side which is missing the panel. The motor is all stock except for the magneto which is described below. It runs smooth and well. I once rode it from San Diego to San Francisco and back, having only to change a worn out rear tyre.
It has the original TV-type spare tyre carrier, but not the tyre holding bracket. This is replaceable. The left footboard is dented. The rubberwork and floorstrips are old and beat and could be replaced, but that's just part of a resto if that's what you have in mind.
This hole in the side of the headset was there from the get-go when we got it in about 1983 or so. Ventilation?
The correct speedometer and light work fine. The faded numbering may be cause for concern. All hope is not lost however; new faces are available.
TV III no doubt turned the scooter world on it's ear by being the first scooter equipped with a disc brake. This is the original piece, recently serviced and in great working order. As someone once said: '' Stops on a dime, give ya nine cents change!''. The 'i' cap has now been replaced.
While in San Francisco, the scooter was maintained by Walter Alter of 'The BatCave' fame. I think that it was he who at some point mounted the coil where these holes in the fender are. I don't think that he liked where Innocenti put it.. Now the scoot uses a Motoplat coil on the right footboard support for the Serveta 12v. magneto.
Where the rectifier used to be there's now a LI wire junction, and you can also see the square 12v regulator up on the frame. The scoot has a rewired-for-12v. Serveta stator and flywheel running in A.C. configuration. No battery, big bright lights. Brake light works great. The original flywheel/stator/rectifier will be included in the sale should you want to restore the electrical system to stock.
So that's it, as far as I can remember. The scoot is in daily service. Trade for a good car would be considered, otherwise the price is $1,600/best offer. It's in San Diego and you'd have to come and get it. Feel free to write wth any questions.
Update 12-2-'04 P.S. It also needs a new muffler; this one's had it.
I'm going to advertise soon so if you're interested let me know.
